Biography:
Chris Whitehead from Edna is a redshirt Freshman at Texas A&M University - Kingsville. Whitehead was a four year starter at Edna HS where he hit .420 his senior year.
"Chris is an outstanding young man and will be an asset to your team. Chris is currently redshirting and will be a big part of our future for the next 4 years. He is a left handed hitter and will eventually hit for power. He has good speed for a big guy and will play left field for us, with the ability to play 1st base as well" said Jason Gonzales A&M Kingsville's Head Baseball Coach.
"Having Chris in this redshirt situation allows Coach Clemons to have depth at many positions because of his versatility, said Haynes. "He'll learn the league, what it takes to compete at the college level, and have that extra year to play for us. We would like to see him at both corners in the infield and outfield as well as catcher and DH." Chris was a 4 year starter for the HS football team as well.
