Previous School: Luna played at North Central Texas College for coach Eric Wright...was an outfielder and pitcher…as a sophomore, hit .301 with five doubles, two home runs, 13 RBIs and 10 runs…as a freshman, hit .286 with a double, five RBIs and three runs in 21 at-bats.
 
High School: Was a four-year starter at Caldwell High School for his father, coach Louie Luna...earned all-state honors at second base…was an All-Brazos Valley selection…twice earned all-district honors at shortstop…named All-District MVP and Offensive MVP…played club baseball for the Houston Cardinals and coach Jimmy Kirk.
