Biography:

In 2013: Benitez appeared on the mound nine times pitching 9-1/3 innings. He posted a 0-0 record with a 6.74 ERA allowing more than one run in an outing once against St. Edward’s in the regional tournament. He fanned 10 batters on the season with a season-high three against Oklahoma Christian.

In 2012: Benitez ap- peared in six games as a reliever. He finished 0-1 with a 7.88 ERA with eight strikeouts and six walks. Benitez had two scoreless performances including a 3.0IP performance at UT Brownsville and allowed a run or less in four outings.

High School: Benitez played prep baseball at New Braunfels High School. He was a two-time first team all-district pitcher and led his team to a pair of playoff ap- pearances.
