Biography:

In Junior College: James played two seasons at Northern Oklahoma for head coach Raydon Leaton. As a sophomore, he posted a 3-5 won-loss record with 39 strikeouts in 37-2/3 innings.

In High School: James competed in high school at Richard King High School in Corpus Christi. He played for head coach Gabriel Perez.

Personal: James is the son of Mark James and Jonna Davidson. He has a sibling Leif Swedlund. His father played football for Texas A&I. James is majoring in civil engineering.
