The Generals took down the Amarillo Sod Squad on Saturday night 19-5 but that was only the first victory on the night for the Generals. Following the game, the Generals held their annual Warrior's Weekend Night at the Park event and jersey auction that raised $20,750 for Warrior's Weekend. 100% of the money raised goes to the Warrior's Weekend organization. Saturday's total was the second largest jersey total ever, second only to our 2019 Warrior's Weekend auction which totaled $27,450. Congressman Michael Cloud joined the action with a ceremonial first pitch and donned a commutative jersey which started the auction off bringing in $1,000.
This is the eighth season that the Generals have held their jersey auctions and with the $20,750 from Saturday have raised $261,420 for worthy causes for the Victoria community. Saturday, July 10th will be our second and final jersey auction of the season with Strike Out Cancer presented by Citizens Medical Canter. For all the jersey auctions, the Generals rely on several sponsors to provide funding to cover the cost of the jerseys so the organizations can collect 100% of the money raised at these auctions. The Generals would also like to thank Scherer Kubota for sponsoring the jerseys for Warrior's Weekend and for Compadres Design for making the evening a Free Ticket Night. Many thanks to our awesome fans for opening up their wallets and supporting these awesome charities!
