Generals Announce 2020 TCL Schedule
September 13, 2019 – The Texas Collegiate League released the 2020 season this week as the TCL is set to launch their 17th season of wood bat collegiate baseball. The 2020 season will be the 12th for the Victoria Generals as they seek their 3rd TCL Championship
This season will consist of a 48 game season (24 home dates, 24 road dates) that will open up on Thursday, May 28th. The Generals will open up this season on the road as they head to Texarkana to take on the Twins in a two-game series. The Generals will head home and will have their home opener on Saturday, May 30th at 7:05 pm at Riverside Stadium as they take on the defending champion Brazos Valley Bombers. This season will see the return of an Opening Day Free Ticket Night presented by TISD Internet Services. All Generals fans will be admitted to the home opener absolutely FREE!
The season will be divided into two 24 game halves that will conclude the end of the first half on Friday, June 26th. The following day will begin the second half that will run until the final day of the regular season on Friday, July 31st. Following a travel day for playoff contenders, the playoffs will begin with a first round match up on Sunday, August 2nd. This series will match the top seed team from the first half with the #4 team on the season and other match up will match the second seed in the first half with the #3 seed. This first round series will be a best of three series. The winners of each of these series will meet up in the one game championship series to crown a TCL Champion on August 6th.
Several important dates have been locked down for the 2020 season including our 7th Annual Warriors Weekend event that will be scheduled for Saturday, June 13th as well as our 7th Annual Strike Out Cancer event that will be scheduled for Saturday, July 25th. Both of these events will include our special player jersey auction with 100% of the money raised going to these outstanding causes.
