August 7, 2019 – The Victoria Generals finished up their six game road trip with a 9-7 win over the Texarkana Twins, pushing their road trip record to 5-1.
The Generals would get things going early when Coby Potvin, Payton Robertson and Ryan Flores each had RBI hits in the first inning to give the Generals a 3-0 lead.
The Generals would push their lead all the way up to 7-1 thanks to RBI’s from Bennett Laurence, Jordan Johnson and Tanner Roach.
The Twins again would not go away easily as they scored four runs in the eighth inning and another two runs in the ninth to send us to extra innings.
The Generals would finally put the Twins away when Robertson notched another RBI, followed by a Kyle Moos RBI single to give the Generals all the runs they would need as Ty Abraham shut the door on the Twins in the bottom half of the 10th inning.
Alex Canul had a very solid start on the mound for the Generals. Canul went seven innings, giving up four hits, one walk, striking out two and allowing one earned run.
Ty Abraham got the win and the save in relief tonight for the Generals. Abraham went one inning, giving up zero hits, zero walks, striking out one while allowing zero earned runs.
The Generals wrapped up a tremendous road trip, going 5-1 on the trip as the only loss came in the second game to the Bombers.
The Generals will be back at home and back in action tomorrow night when they host they Acadiana Cane Cutters in the first game of a two game series. This two game series marks the end of the TCL regular season so this is one of your last chances to come out and watch the Generals play. Tomorrow night’s game will be Thirsty Thursday so all draft beer will be just one dollar on the Compadre Deck.
