July 28th, 2019- The Victoria Generals had an offensive display as they were able to beat the Brazos Valley Bombers 8-2. The Generals were able to take the lead in the bottom of the fourth and never looked back.
The Bombers struck first with a two-run bomb in the 1st inning by Kyle Bergeron. That home run was the only offense the Bombers were able to mount as the Generals scored eight unanswered runs with the final score being 8-2 in favor of the Generals.
Payton Robertsons’ offensive prowess lead the Generals to the victory tonight as he went 2-4 with two RBI’s and three runs scored. Jose Diaz, Marshal Skinner, Coby Potvin, and Zac Vooletich also got in the action with RBI’s of their own.
Spencer Arrighetti got the win for the Victoria Generals. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out five. Brent Hebert got the save, and Seth Campbell also entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Dontae Woodard took the loss for the Brazos Valley Bombers. He lasted six and third innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out five.
