The Bombers would respond in the top half of the second inning thanks to a Cole Coker two RBI double. Ty Abraham would get Bryant Shellenbarger to ground into a huge double play to end the threat.
The Generals would go on to manufacture runs in the second, fourth, fifth, sixth and eighth innings in what turned out to be a really steady offense tonight for the Generals. Jose Diaz, Coby Potvin, Zac Vooletich and Ryan Flores each knocked in a run while Payton Robertson led the team with two RBI’s on the night.
Ty Abraham got the start tonight for the Generals. Abraham lasted three innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out one.
The story of the game for the Generals was Jonathan Jimenez, who got the win in relief tonight. Jimenez was terrific on the mound tonight as he lasted six innings, allowing just one hit and no walks, while striking out six Bombers.
Logan Teske took the loss tonight for the Bombers. Teske lasted four innings, giving up four hits and striking out one, while allowing five earned runs.
The Generals will be back in action tomorrow night when they wrap up a two game series with the Bombers. With the win tonight, the Generals are just one and a half games back of the Bombers for the top spot in the division. We hope to see everyone there in what should be a phenomenal series finale!
