June 15th, 2019- Back to back three-run innings in the 6th and 7th, and a two run 8th lead the Generals to an 8-2 come from behind win. The Victoria Generals sweep the Baton Rouge Rougarou. Coby Potvin lead the Generals with 3 RBI’s, and Jordan Johnson, Ian Grooves, and Zac Vooleitch also contributed with RBI’s to the late innings rally’s.
Deryk Serbantez got the start for the Generals. He ended the game with 6 innings pitched, giving up 1 earned run, and struck out 4. Jake Zatopek, and Jack Engelman finished off the Rougarou combining for 3 innings pitched, struck out 1, and gave up 1 hit. Engelman finished with the save, and Serbantez grabbed the win.
Austin Hatzel got the start for the Rougarou lasting 2 innings striking out 1, and walking 2. Reid Baty went the next 3 innings for the Baton Rouge Rougarou only giving up one hit. Kyle Flettrich gains the loss tonight giving up 3 and failing to retire any.
The Generals were only able to hit the ball and have it fall safely 8 times tonight. The only player to have a multi-hit game was Zac Vooleitch, whom also had a solo home run.
The Generals will be back in action June 16th when they take on the Brazos Valley Bombers for game one of the two game series. Tomorrow is Father’s Day at the park, with free admission being granted to dad’s and their kids. The game will be hosted at Riverside Stadium at 7:05 P.M.
