Bennett Laurence and Matthew Swick share the City Mortgage Player of the Week award with outstanding opening week performances. Bennett Laurence's bat got hot and stayed hot throughout the week with a blistering .526 average on the week (10 for 19) with a .591 on-base percentage. Laurence had three doubles on the week with five RBI's and five runs scored. Laurence was also outstanding defensively with several great players in the outfield. Matthew Swick also had a great week with two appearances in 10.0 innings, with 11 strikeouts, allowing five hits, one run and an ERA of .90 on the week with a record of 1-0.
