The 2017 Victoria Generals wrapped up their season this week with a strong second half with a record of 18-10 (first in the TCL) and ended the season at 34-22 (second in the TCL). While the Generals came up a bit short of their goal of TCL Champs, there were plenty of great things for the Generals to hang their hats on. 2017 marked the fourth season that the Generals have held jersey auctions to benefit organizations within our community. In 2014, the Generals raised $18,500 for Warrior's Weekend and Guardians of the Ribbon. New for 2015, the Generals added a purple jersey to benefit the Alzheimer's Association and raised $34,850 with the three jersey auctions. In 2016, the Generals raised $33,896 for the same organizations as in 2015.
Our first jersey auction was held on June 17th as the players, coaches and special guests wore PINK jerseys to benefit the fight against cancer thanks to our jersey sponsor Citizens Medical Center. Over the past three seasons, the pink jerseys have brought in a total of $30,500 to go towards cancer awareness and the fight against cancer. The 2017 event was a success bringing in $9,500 for the cause and bringing the four year total to $40,000 raised for the fight against cancer!
Our second jersey auction was held on July 22nd as the players and coaches wore these jerseys for two nights. The patriotic American flag jerseys were auctioned off to benefit Warrior's Weekend thanks to our jersey sponsor TISD Internet Services. The top jersey for the evening came from two local Warriors that both brought in over $1,000 each. The event brought in $15,875 for the Warrior's Weekend Organization and showed how well our community supports our troops! Over the past four seasons, the Warrior's jerseys have brought in $54,275 for our Warriors!
Our final jersey auction was scheduled to be held on August 7th as the players, coaches and special guests wore PURPLE jerseys to benefit the Alzheimer's Association sponsored by Senior Helpers, United Rentals and Scherer Kubota. Unfortunately, Mother Nature played a part in having the auction moved to Saturday, August 5th. Over the past two seasons, the Purple jerseys have brought in a total of $18,400 to go towards Alzheimer's research. In 2017, the jersey auction raised $7,000 for the Alzheimer's Association, bringing the three year total to $25,400.
The three special nights brought in $32,375 for these three cialis generico precio organizations and really shows how our fans support these great causes. Our four year total for all the jersey auctions totals $120,000.00.
