The Victoria Generals rallied all night, but it was a walk that got the victory.
Chace Sarchet walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth as the Generals defeated the Texas Marshals 7-6 in walk-off fashion in Texas Collegiate League action at Riverside Stadium Thursday night.
The Generals' (11-8) took a 6-5 lead when Mac Odom hit a sacrifice fly to shallow right field in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Marshals (3-15) tied the game in the top of the ninth, when Case Jacobsen hit a RBI single with the bases loaded.
The Marshals had a 5-1 lead after two innings.
Hunter Hearn started the rally in the third inning, hitting a RBI single, then Will Watson smacked a solo home run in the bottom frame of the fourth to cut the lead to two.
Hearn went 2-for-5 with a home run and a RBI; Sarchet went 2-for-4 with two RBI's for the Generals,
Generals starting pitcher May Lee Gonzalez gave up nine hits and three runs in 5 2/3 innings.
All starters for the Generals had a hit in the game.
The Generals scored one run in each of the sixth through ninth innings.
The Generals will wrap up the two-game series against the Marshals at Riverside Stadium at 7:05 p.m. Friday with Free Ticket Night presented by Caterpillar. No ticket necessary. Gates open at 6pm.
