Pedro Barrios hit a two-out, walk-off single to score Darien Simms as the Victoria Generals used a three-run ninth inning to beat the Acadiana Cane Cutters 10-9 on Sunday night at Riverside Stadium.
Down 9-7, Jonathan Reyes reached first on an error by Cane Cutters first baseman Adam Yacek to lead off the bottom of the ninth. Adam Goss followed with a double to put runners on second and third before Simms delivered a game-tying single.
After a flyout and a fielder's choice moved Simms to second with two outs, Barrios stepped to the plate to give the Generals (31-19) their third straight win.
With the win, Victoria moves 1 1/2 games ahead of Acadiana (30-21) for second place in the Texas Collegiate League standings.
The Generals will travel to play a doubleheader, starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, against the Texas Marshals.
