7/22/2015 - Victoria Generals vs. Woodlands Stykers
Lee May Gonzalez pitched a solid six and a third innings and Jacob Spring had three RBIs as the
Generals completed the two game sweep of the Woodland Strykers.The Generals have won 12 of their last 13 and have moved into a tie for first place in the second half with the Bombers.
The Generals struck first in the bottom of the second exploding for five runs. Christian Caudle
and Ryan McCranie scored on an RBI single from Donivan Lopez. Travis Jones scored on a single from Darien Simms.
Lopez stole home on a double steal and Simms scored on an RBI ground out from Adam Goss.
The Stryker's Nolan Holland was replaced on the mound in the fifth by Adam Hunter. Holland left
the game after allowing five runs on five hits in four innings of work.
The Generals scored four more runs in the fifth with Goss scoring on an RBI single from Caudle
and Romeo Cortina, Bryce Brandl, and Caudle scoring on a triple from Spring.
Hunter left the game after just one inning of work, being replaced on the mound by Raul Baduel.
Hunter allowed four runs on three hits in his inning of work.
The Stryker's scored their first runs of the game in the seventh. Preston Marsh scored
on a pass ball and Dalton Richardson scored on an RBI ground out from Brian Deaver.
Lee May Gonzalez's night came to an end with one out in the seventh. Gonzalez had a solid start
allowing just two runs on three hits in six and a thirds innings work. Chris Jones
took Gonzalez's place on the mound.
Chris Cooper replaced Baduel on the mound in the seventh. Baduel finished the night allowing
no runs and no hits in one inning of work.
Richard Carthon came home in the eighth to give the Strykers their third run of the night. Carthon
was plated on a single from Preston Marsh.
Bryce Tomlin took the mound for the Strykers in the eighth. Tomlin took over for Cooper, who allowed
no runs on zero hits in one inning of work.
Lance Moszkowicz came into the game in the ninth to finish things off for the Generals. Chris Jones
allowed one run on three hits and Moszkowicz finished the night allowing two runs on two hits.
The Stryker's tried to rally in the top of the ninth. Deaver scored on a double from Carthon
and Will Fox came home on a throwing error from Brandl.
Lee May Gonzalez earned the win for the Generals, while Nolan Holland took home the loss for the
Strykers.
The Generals will be back home this weekend for a two game series against the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
Saturday night will be Faith & Family night presented by Klean Corp International. Come out as Clay Crockett
will perform a pre-game concert starting at 6pm. Sunday night will
be Diamonds on the Diamond sponsored by Torin Bales. Ladies will have a chance to win diamond
earrings.Gates open at 6pm both nights so come out early and catch the action.
