The Generals use a strong pitching effort to hold on to a 6-5 victory over the Woodland Strykers. The Strykers jump out to an early 2-0 lead after one inning of play. The Generals battle back in the second inning with two runs to even the score at 2-2 as the teams head into the top of the third. The Generals would tack on two more runs to take their first lead of the game on Romeo Cortina's two out, two run single to move the lead to 4-2.The Generals would continue to tack on runs in the fourth inning with two runs to take the lead to 6-2. The Strykers would battle back in the fifth inning with a run that would force starting pitcher Ryan Fant out of the game after a solid start. Dan Rankin would enter the game and dominate the Strykers by striking out six of the next seven batters and give way to Brett Burrington in the eighth. Burrington would have a nine pitch, nine strike inning and strike out the side. The Strykers would continue to battle in the ninth, scoring two runs and have a runner in scoring position. Lance Moszkowicz would come in with two outs in the inning to retire the final batter on a outstanding catch by Darien Simms to end the game. The Generals will take on the Strykers on the final game of the series at 7:05 Wednesday night.
