![]() In game one of the doubleheader, Nolan Trabanino threw six solid innings of work, and Matt Smith hit a walk-off single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh leading the Generals to a 2-1 Victory.
Matt Valdez scored the first run of the game in the fifth inning on a shallow single from the second baseman Jacob Chappell.
The Generals quickly tied the game up in the bottom of the fifth. Matt Smith hit into a fielder's choice to score Pedro Barrios, who reached base with a one-out single earlier in the inning.
The Bombers pulled Landon in the bottom of the fifth after giving up seven hits and allowing only one run in four and two-thirds innings. Ryan Mose took Landon's place on the mound to get Brazos Valley out of the fifth inning jam.
Mose pitched to just one batter giving way to Nick Jones in the bottom half of the sixth inning.
After six solid innings of work for Trabanino, Lance Moszkowicz came in to finish out the game for the Generals and earned the win in relief.
Trabanino pitched six solid innings, allowing just one run on 6 hits.
The Bombers struck first again in the second game. Geonte Jackson delivered a one out single to score Louis Boyd.
Adam Goss tied things up in the bottom of the third, plating Romeo Cortina with a two out single. Johnathan Reyes also scored with two outs on a single from Pedro Barrios.
Mark Whitehead tied things back up in the fifth. Whitehead reached on an error, went to second on an error from the pitcher on an attempted pickoff, and then stole third base and scored on another throwing error from the catcher.
Mike Walker threw four and one-third innings of work for the Bombers. Callaway Kirkpatrick came into the game with two runners on and set down the next two batters to end the bottom of the fifth.
The Bombers jumped back on top with a two-out rally in the sixth. Blake Kopetsky tripled and scored on a single from Matt Hilston, making the score 3-2. Lee May Gonzalez took over following Hilston's RBI and issued a groundball to end the inning.
Dakota Mekkes entered for the Bombers in the seventh. Andre Shewcraft then came in after the Generals loaded the bases with one out.
Bryce Brandl delivered with a based-loaded two-run single, and the Generals walked-off again in game two 4-3, sweeping the doubleheader. “We have a great group of guys who never give in, and continue to fight till the last out.” said head coach Michael Oros.
The Generals head to The Woodlands on Tuesday to take on the Strykers before returning back to Riverside Stadium on Thursday night to play the East Texas Pump Jacks.
