Lafayette, LA - Generals beat the Acadiana Cane Cutters tonight by a score of 6-3. Armando Arevalo started on the mound for the Generals tonight, going 7 innings, giving up 2 runs and striking out 3. A couple Generals that stood out offensively were: Justin Pachhioli who went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. David Paiz went 2 for 4 with a run scored and 2 RBI’s.
David Paiz started the scoring for the Generals in the Top of the 2nd inning when he hit a RBI single that scored Matt Burks. Later in the inning Justin Pacchioli scored on an error by the Cane Cutters to make the score 2-0.
The Generals came back up in the Top of the 5th inning and Tanner Hill hit a RBI single to score Pacchioli, 3-0. A couple batters later Cedric Vallieres hit a RBI single that would score David Paiz to make it a 4-0 game.
Pacchioli hit a RBI double to start off the Top of the 6th inning that scored Keith Funk. Later in the inning Paiz hit a sac-fly that scored Matt Burks to make the score 6-0.
The Cane Cutters would finally get on the board in the bottom of the 6th scoring 1 run to make it a 6-1 game. The Cane Cutters would add another run in the bottom of the 7th and another run in the bottom of the 8th inning to make it 6-3. Jeff Chesnut came in to close the bottom of the 9th and would do so successfully.
