On Tuesday, nine Generals competed in the TCL All-Star Game. A. Rondon lead the charge offensively for the TCL South, by going 3-5. B. Portelli also had a good night, going 2-4 with D. Ortiz and P. Barrios collecting a RBI a piece. J. Pacchioli had a great night defensively while C. Vallieres swung for the fences in the HR Derby. Vallieres finished in second place in the derby with 14 home runs.
R. Benitez would be named the starting pitcher for the South, as he gave up 1 run on 1 hit for the night. Coming in to back up Benitez was T. Schlottmann and K. Looper. The two pitchers combined for 2 strikeouts, giving up 0 hits in 1.1 innings of work.
The TCL South fell to North by a score of 7-3 in 9 innings of play. The Generals will be back in action tonight as they travel to Kilgore to take on the East Texas Pump Jacks. First pitch is at 7:05, and you can catch the action on the City Mortgage Group Broadcast Network (Ustream).
The Generals will return home July 12th for a four game home stand. We have a lot of fun in store for you, and it all starts Saturday!
