You voted, we listened…Abel Baker is your all time Victoria Generals Catcher. As a freshman at Baylor, Baker joined the Generals in 2010. He was one of three catchers that year for the Generals as Kyle Arnsberg and Michael Pair backed him up. Baker ended his career with the Generals with a Batting Average of .203, 15 hits and nine RBI’s. The biggest hit of them all would come in the form of a major league homerun in the 2010 championship game against East Texas; which would help give the Generals their first TCL Title. Baker’s talents were most noticeable behind the plate as he was a human backstop. Baker wasn’t a big stalky catcher, but we he did poses, was a strong arm. Baker now currently plays for the Inland Empire 66ers in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization. Baker finished his season in the Class A Advanced California League with a .252 Avg, 78 H, 5 HR, and 33 RBI’s. Be sure to visit our website and vote in our newest poll for the All Time 1st Baseman.
