The Victoria Generals have added right-handed pitcher Tyler Schnuriger to the active roster to help them finish out the final three weeks of the Texas Collegiate League season. Schnuriger was a member of the Generals’ 2012 team that made it to the TCL Championship Series.
Schnuriger made nine starts for the Generals just a summer ago and posted a 2-4 record with a 3.78 ERA. The right-hander struck out 38 batters in 54.2 innings of work.
Schnuriger, a native of San Antonio, recently completed his sophomore season at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. Schnuriger struck out 23 batters in 22.1 innings on the season.
The Generals take on the first-place Brazos Valley Bombers tonight at Riverside Stadium in the first game of a two-game series at 7:05pm. It will be a matchup of the top two teams from the first-half of the TCL season. Both the Generals and Bombers have secured a playoff spot and will host home playoff games on Saturday, August 10.
Tonight is Christmas in July presented by the Victoria Chamber of Commerce. All fans that bring an unwrapped gift valued at $5 or more will receive a free ticket to tonight’s game. Blue Santa will be at the game to accept all gift donations.
Tonight is also Thirsty Thursday presented by Beef ‘O’ Brady’s. Draft beer will be $1 on the party deck all game long.
After last week’s rainout, Junior League Night has been rescheduled for tonight as well.
