The Victoria Generals took down the East Texas Pump Jacks 12-2 on Saturday night at Driller Park in Kilgore in the first game of a two-game series. The Generals were aided by six Pump Jack errors in the ball game. The win broke the Generals three-game losing streak.

The Generals jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Frank Cloutier led off the game with a single to left field and came into score on a two-base error by the Pump Jacks. Jace Reese then singled home J.B. Moss before another Pump Jacks error allowed Hayden Vesely to come into score.

Yet another error by the Pump Jacks in the third inning allowed Vesely to come into score again. J.D. Stinnett then hit a sacrifice fly to score J.D. Arrorwood to give the Generals a 5-0 advantage.

The Pump Jacks got a run back in the bottom of the third inning on an error by Generals shortstop Alvaro Rondon to make it a 5-1 game.

Vesely smacked an RBI single in the sixth inning to score Moss and give the Generals a 6-1 advantage.

The Pump Jacks added a run in the seventh inning on a Brett McAfee RBI single to make it 6-2.

The Generals got the run back in the eighth to make it a 7-2 ballgame on a sacrifice fly by Vesely to score Rondon. It was Vesely’s third RBI of the game.

The Generals added five insurance runs in the top of the ninth inning to extend the lead to 12-2. J.D. Arrowood scored on a wild pitch before a Stinnett RBI triple plated Kyle Thornell. Stinnett and Rondon then executed a double steal to allow Stinnett to come into score. Frank Cloutier delivered an RBI double to plate Rondon and Jace Reese hit an RBI single to score Cloutier.

Chase Angelle picked up the win on the mound, his third of the season. Angelle allowed just one run as he scattered seven hits in six innings with one strikeout.

Kris Looper allowed one run on two hits in two innings with one strikeout. Armando Arevalo pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
