The Victoria Generals offensive woes continued on Sunday night as they lost their fourth straight game to the Brazos Valley Bombers by a final score of 6-1. The Generals managed just four hits in the game as they struggled to come up with an answer for the Bombers pitching staff once again.
Generals starting pitcher Jordan Pacheco gave up six runs on six hits in six innings with six strikeouts and one walk. Alexis Mercado hit a three-run home run in the first inning and Graham McIntyre added a two-run blast in the second to provide the bulk of the Bombers offense on the night.
The Generals lone run of the game came in the fourth inning as J.D. Stinnett scored on a wild pitch.
The Bombers improve to 19-3 with the win and the Generals fall to 13-9 on the season.
The Generals will have the day off on Monday before embarking on a four-game road trip. The Generals will play against the Texas Marshals in Dallas on Tuesday and Wednesday before returning to Bryan for two more games against the Bombers on Thursday and Friday.
The next Generals home game is on Saturday, June 29 against the Acadiana Cane Cutters at 7:05pm at Riverside Stadium.
