(Bryan, TX) The first place Victoria Generals of the Texas Collegiate League rolled into town and kept things rolling with a 4 run first ining against the Brazos Valley bombers Friday night.
James Hipp started things with a crisp single and two outs later, Mike Davis singled him home. Michael Pair followed with a single and the Generals had runners on first and third. A wild pitch scored Davis and Creighton Hoke walked, as did Brian Nephew to load the bases. Brendan McGaheran singled home Pair and Justin Klusak then drove in the final run of the first inning with a clutch two out single. The Generals never looked back.
Mike Davis led the way with a home run also in the 4th and Tyler King threw 5 strong innings to get the win. He is now 3-1 on the season.
Chris Pena was stellar in the 4 innings of relief to get the save, and the Generals kept adding on until the final score was 10-0.
The Generals are now 3 games up in the TCL having won 8 of their last eleven games.
The Generals will finish the series Saturday night with the Bombers and then come home for a 4 game homestand beginning Tuesday.
