Billy Richard led the Generals offense with two hits on Sunday night
The Victoria Generals have lost five games this season and four of them have come at the hands of the Brazos Valley Bombers. The Bombers took down the Generals 6-2 on Sunday night to improve their league-leading record to 11-2. The Generals fell to 8-5 on the season.
Generals starting pitcher Covey Morrow's first two outings of the season had been dominant, but his third outing on Sunday night fell a little short. The Bombers scored four runs on five hits off of Morrow through 3.2 innings of work. Jeremy Flores came on in relief and gave up two more runs on five hits through 3.1 innings.
The score was 5-0 in favor of the Bombers before the Generals scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it 5-2. Billy Richard tripled to deep centerfield to score Trent Wagner who had led off the inning with a walk. Richard would later score on a wild pitch.
The Bombers tacked on another run in the sixth to take a 6-2 lead. Corey Holmes pitched the final two innings for the Generals without allowing a run. He had three strikeouts and allowed just one hit.
