Rudy Flores had two hits for the Generals on Tuesday night.
The Victoria Generals dropped their second straight game to Brazos Valley on Tuesday night by a final score of 6-4. It was the second straight night that the Generals held a lead going into the seventh inning before failing to close out the game.
Generals starting pitcher Covey Morrow pitched five innings, allowing just two runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Daniel Tunchez took the loss for the Generals, pitching the final four innings and allowing four runs on five hits. Tunchez walked two and struck out two.
The Bombers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before the Generals tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the second inning. Trent Wagner tripled to deep left-centerfield to lead off the inning and came around to score on an RBI groudout by Alex Klonowski. Klonowski would later score on an error.
The Generals added two more in the third inning to take a 4-2 lead after Chad Kruse led off with a double and scored on wild pitch. Jude Vidrine then scored on an RBI single to centerfield by Rudy Flores.
The Bombers tied the game with two runs off of Tunchez in the seventh inning and then took the lead for good with two more runs in the top of the ninth.
The Generals fell to 3-2 on the season as the Bombers improved to 3-1
The Generals travel to The Woodlands on Wednesday to take on the Strykers before returning home on Thursday night to host the McKinney Marshals.
Thursday night is the first Thirsty Thursday of the season at the Generals game. Draft beer will be $1 all game long on the 100.5 The Ranch Party Deck.
Thursday is also VC Appreciation Night and Little League Night. All students, faculty, and staff that show a Victoria College ID at the gate will receive half price tickets. All kids in their little league uniforms will get in for free. Game time is 7:05pm Thursday night at Riverside Stadium in Victoria.
