Over the course of the past three years, the Victoria Generals have seen 11 of their former players selected in the Major League Baseball draft. Several of those players have quickly made a splash in minor league baseball and are off to hot starts this season.
Former Generals outfielder Bryson Myles is currently with the Lake County Captains of the Midwest League. The Captains are a Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. Despite battling some hamstring problems, Myles is hitting .266 with six doubles, two triples, one home run, and 14 RBIs. Myles also has eight stolen bases and has scored nine runs through 25 games.

Zach Nuding, the Generals closer during the inaugural season in 2009, has started the 2012 season off with the Tampa Yankees of the Florida State League, a Class A Advanced affiliate of the New York Yankees. Nuding is currently 2-1 on the season with a 5.14 ERA through five starts. Nuding has struck out 29 batters in 28 innings.
David Rollins has also put up impressive numbers in his first seven starts this season. The former Generals pitcher is currently 2-0 on the season with a 2.30 ERA for the Lansing Lugnuts of the Midwest League, a Class A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. Rollins has already tallied 34 strikeouts in 31.1 innings pitched.
Former Generals catcher Abel Baker who helped lead the Generals to the 2010 TCL Championship is playing for the Cedar Rapids Kernels in the Midwest League. The Kernels are a Class Aaffiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. Baker is hitting .197 with four doubles, one triple, one home run, 12 RBIs, 11 walks, and six runs scored.
The Victoria Generals home opener for the 2012 season is on Sunday, June 3 at 7:05pm at Riverside Stadium against the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
