Ryan Wagner steps down from his post as the head coach of the Victoria Generals
The Victoria Generals baseball team will soon be in need of a new leader as head coach Ryan Wagner has announced his resignation, effective immediately.
Wagner lead the Generals to a fifth-place finish in the Texas Collegiate League in 2011 with a 28-31 record. The Generals offered to renew Wagner's contract for 2012, but Wagner declined after accepting a full-time job in sales with a local oil and gas company. With his new role, Wagner would no longer be able to meet the demands of the Generals summer season.
“We are thankful for Ryan's service to our organization last summer,” said Victoria’s GM Blake Koch. “We will miss having Ryan around, but look forward to seeing him at some of our games this summer as a fan.”
The Generals have begun a search to fill the position. An announcement on the new head coach for the Generals is expected next month.
