Due to Tropical Storm Don, the Generals and Bombers changed their weekend schedule of games and played a doubleheader on Friday night in Victoria. The Bombers took game one in extra innings by a final score of 4-3. The Generals salvaged the series split by winning game two 9-4.
The Generals and Bombers remain tied in the overall TCL standings as both teams are now 23-26 on the season. The Generals are now 11-9 in the second-half, and the Bombers are 8-12.
Game 1
In game one of the doubleheader, the Generals and Bombers traded runs in the first inning. Herbert Romero scored for the Bombers on a wild pitch by Generals' starter Blake Denman to make the score 1-0. The Generals answered with an RBI single by Ryan Dalton to score Cody Abraham to tie the game at 1-1.
The Bombers added single runs in the third and fourth off of Denman to take a 3-1 lead. Denman would go on to pitch six innings and allow just three runs on six hits while striking out five, but did not factor in the decision.
The Generals tied the game up at 3-3 in the fifth on back-to-back RBI doubles by Abraham and Chad Kruse.
Neither team scored in the seventh, sending the game into extra innings.
In the top of the eighth, the Bombers were able to push a run across on an RBI triple by Adam Smith. Jared Hopper would take the loss for the Generals as they were unable to score in the bottom of the frame despite having a runner on second base with no outs.
Damian Rivera picked up the win for the Bombers and Logan Burch was credited with the save.

Game 2
In game two, it was the Bombers who got on the board first once again as they scored a run in the top of the second inning on a throwing error by the Generals catcher, Brad Shankle, to make the score 1-0.
The Generals then responded with a five-run third inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Ryan Dalton walked to score a run and tie the game at 1-1. John Longoria then drove a single into left field with two ours to score two runs. Michael McGraw followed it up with a two-run double into the right-centerfield gap to make the score 5-1.
The Bombers would cut the Generals lead to 5-3 in the fourth inning on back-to-back walks with the bases loaded and two outs.
Casey Dykes made the score 5-4 with a solo home run to left field in the fifth inning.
The Generals then put the game away for good with a four-run fifth inning. Longoria got the scoring started with an RBI single. McGraw then drilled his second straight two-run double, this time over the centerfielder's head. Later in the inning, Kevin Phillips hit an RBI single to left field to make the score 9-4.
Jordan Harrison picked up the win in relief for the Generals.

The Generals and Bombers will not play on Saturday. Any fans that have tickets to Saturday night's originally scheduled contest can redeem their tickets at the front gate at any of the Generals remaining home games during the 2011 season.
The Generals and Bombers will return to action on Monday at 7:05pm at Riverside Stadium in the first game of a two-game series. The Generals play at home Monday through Thursday next week.
