Generals ace Ross Goebel pitched eight innings to pick up his 5th win of the season.
The Victoria Generals received another dominant outing from starting pitcher Ross Goebel on Friday night as they defeated the Alexandria Aces 5-1 on the road in Alexandria. Goebel picked up his team-leading fifth win of the season by pitching eight innings and allowing only one run on a solo home run by Justin Brodnax in the second inning. Goebel allowed just six hits and one walk while striking out three.
The Generals offense scored two runs in the fifth inning, two in the sixth, and one in the seventh. The Generals scored their five runs on just six hits.
The Generals improved to 18-20 overall and 6-3 in the second-half. The Aces fell to 10-27 overall and 1-8 in the second-half.
The Generals and Aces will play game two of the two-game series on Saturday night at 7:00 in Alexandria.
