Tony Manville pitched 8 innings on Monday night to earn the win!
The Victoria Generals offensive struggles continued early in the game on Monday night. Over a span of two and a half games and 23 straight innings, the Generals had only scored one run. Then, trailing the Acadiana Cane Cutters 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Generals put up four runs to take a 4-1 lead and end the offensive drought.
Trent Wagner had an RBI double, Grayson Porter had an RBI single, and Cory Hunt drove a double over the left fielders head with the bases loaded to score two runs.
The Generals added another run in the eighth inning on a double steal play that scored Porter from third base as Santiago Ruiz got caught in a run down.
The Generals received a solid outing from starting pitcher Tony Manville on the night. Manville pitched eight innings, allowing only one run on six hits while striking out four batters.
Phillip Garcia came on to finish out the game in the ninth and allowed one run in the process to make the final score 5-2.
The Generals moved to 10-13 on the season as the Cane Cutters fell to 12-9.
