Grayson Porter had a 2-run double in Friday night's win
The Victoria Generals ended their five-game losing streak on Friday night, defeating the Coppell Copperheads 6-4. The Copperheads came into the game in first place in the TCL. The Generals are now 6-9 on the season as the Copperheads fell to 10-5.
The Generals got on the board in the bottom of the first inning scoring two runs on RBI singles by Freddy Villalobos and Kyle Arnsberg.
The Generals then extended the lead to 6-0 in the third inning. Grayson Porter delivered a two-run double that short hopped the wall in left-centerfield. Porter would later score on a wild pitch. The Generals also added an unearned run on a Copperheads error in the inning.
The Copperheads would score two in the fourth and two in the eighth to make the final score 6-4.
Blake Denman picked up the win for the Generals throwing six innings, allowing only two runs on five hits while striking out five batters. Covey Morrow came on in relief to work the eighth and ninth innings to pick up the save.
