Josephy Dvorsky picked up his seventh win of the season for the Victoria Generals as they defeated the Texas Tomcats 9-3 on the road Saturday night. Dvorsky pitched five innings, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four. Dvorsky's seven wins are second best in the league. The Generals got on the board in the top of the second inning when catcher Kyle Arnsberg stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and delivered a bases clearing double that short hopped the wall in center field. Arnsberg was 2-for-4 on the night. The Generals scored three more runs in the top of the fifth inning. Mark Hudson and Andrew Russell had back-to-back doubles in the inning with Hudson driving in one run and Russell driving in two. The Generals scored two more runs in the top of the seventh inning on RBI singles by Conner Mach and Trace Knoblauch. Jeramie Marek added an RBI single in the top of the ninth inning to round out the General's scoring for the night. The Generals stayed in first place in the overall standings in the TCL with the win. They are now 29-15 on the season. The Tomcats fell back to .500 and are 22-22. The Generals will return home on Sunday night to host the McKinney Marshals at Riverside Stadium in Victoria at 7:05pm. It's Company Night at the Generals game. Anyone who can show a comapny ID at the ticket gate will get in for free. The Generals will also be putting on a book drive to benefit STARS (South Texas Assessment & Referal Service). All fans that bring in a new or gently used childrens book will get in for free. It is also Chruch Night. That means all fans that present a church bulletin at the gate will get $2 off reserved seating tickets and $1 off generas admission tickets.
