Every player in the Victoria General's starting lineup recorded at least one hit on Thursday night as the Generals cruised to a 9-3 win over the Alexandria Aces in Louisiana. The Generals beat the Aces for the seventh straight time this season, winning every matchup between the two teams all summer long. The Generals got on the board in the second inning when Jeramie Marek walked with the bases loaded to give the Generals an early 1-0 lead. The Generals scored two in the top of the fourth inning before blowing the game wide open with six runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 9-0 lead. The big hit in the inning was a three-run double off of the bat of Andrew Russell. Blake Payne picked up the win on the mound for the Generals to improve his record to 4-4 on the season. Payne pitched six plus innings, scattering seven hits while only allowing three runs, all of which came in the seventh inning. The Generals stayed in first place in the overall TCL standings with the win, improving to 28-14 on the season. The Aces fell to 15-25. The Generals will head to Kilgore on Friday to take on the East Texas Pump Jacks on the road in a game starting at 7:05pm.
