The Texas Tomcats defeated the Victoria Generals 7-3 on Thursday night behind a solid outing by starting pitcher Tony Manville and a big night at the plate by catcher Ryan Guedry. The Generals got on the board in the top of the first on three straight singles by Lawton Langford, Mark Hudson, and Andrew Russell. The Tomcats answered back in bottom of the second inning, scoring two runs on a bases loaded error on the General's second baseman Brendan McGaheran. The score remained 2-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Tomcats scored three runs. Guedry had the big hit in the inning, a bases-loaded two-run double. The Generals added a single run in the top of the seventh before the Tomcats answered back with two more runs in the bottom of the frame. The Generals added a solo homerun by Torrey Jacoby in the top of the 8th inning, but that would be all the Generals would get as the Tomcats won 7-3. Tony Manville picked up the win for the Tomcats to move to 3-4 on the season. Manville pitched six plus innings, allowing only two runs on four hits while stirking out seven. The Tomcats got back to .500 on the season and are now 18-18. The Generals fell to 20-13. The Generals will host the North Texas Copperheads on Saturday night at 7:05pm. It will be another Dollar Beer Night at Riverside Stadium in Victoria!
