The #24 ranked Victoria Generals defeated the Brazos Valley Bombers tonight 9-5 at Riverside Stadium in Victoria to take over sole possession of first place in the overall standings in the Texas Collegiate League. The Generals are now 16-9 on the season and the Bombers are 18-12. The Generals received a solid outing from starter Joesph Dvorsky who struck out six batters in six innings while only allowing two earned runs. The Generals offense gave him plenty of support by scoring nine runs that were aided by three Bomber's errors and eight walks. The Generals had seven hits on the night, despite only three Generals batters recording hits on the evening. Lawton Langford went 4-for-4 on the night with two doubles, a triple, a walk, and three RBIs, Conner Mach went 2-for-5 with a run, a double, and three RBIs, and Brendan McGaheran went 1-for-4 with three runs scored to pace the General's offense. The Generals and Bombers will meet again on Tuesday night in the second game of the series beginning at 7:05pm. Tuesday is Victoria College Night at the game. All VC students will received $2 off general admission tickets. Also, the Generals will have a happy hour from 6:00 until game time for the remainder of their home games this season! So get there early to enjoy happy hour on the party deck!
