The Victoria Generals and McKinney Marshals split a double header tonight at Riverside Stadium in Victoria. Heavy rains in South Texas forced the two teams to play two seven-inning games on Friday after they had to postpone a regularly scheduled game on Thursday.
The Generals cruised to a 7-0 win in game one as starting pitcher Michael Oros was solid on the mound. Oros pitched 5 inning, only giving up three hits while striking out four for the win. Kolt Browder came on in relief to picth the final two innings without allowing a hit. The Generals were led at the plate by Abel Baker, Kenny Jackson, and Andrew Russell who each had two hits and one RBI apeice.
In game two, the Generals were unable to solve the Marshals starting pitcher Nick Thomas. Thomas fanned 11 hitters in six innings of work while only allowing two hits, both of which were infield singles. The Marshals were able to scratch out a run in the bottom of the sixth inning after Bryson Myles led off with a single, stole second and third, and scored after Spencer Barnett struck out swinging. On the strike out, the ball got past General's catcher Michael Pair. Pair threw out Barnett at first base, but Myles was able to score on the play. Josh Easley came on and pitched the bottom of the seventh for the Marshals to pick up the save.
