The Victoria Generals were defeated by the Texas Tomcats tonight by a final score of 8-2 in the first game following the All-Star Break. The Generals were unable to solve Tomcat's starting pitching Casey Grayson as he baffled hitters all night long. Grayson pitched 7.1 innings, only giving up one earned run on four hits while striking out four batters. The Tomcats offense had several opportunities to get back in the game, but were unable to come up with big hits with runners in scoring position. The Generals fell to 14-8 on the season as the Tomcats improved to 13-12. The Generals will host the McKinney Marshals on Thursday in the first game of a two-game series. The game will be another Thirsty Thursday at Riverside Stadium which means draft beer will be $1 all night long.
