The Victoria Generals extended their lead in the Texas Collegiate League standings tonight as they beat the McKinney Marshals by a final score of 9-4. With the win, the Generals improved their record to 13-7. They are now a half game ahead of the Brazos Valley Bombers for first place in the standings. Every game for the next week will be important as the end of the first half of the season nears. The team with the best record at the All-Star break will be named the first-half champions of the TCL and automatically clinch a playoff bearth. The Generals will face the North Texas Copperheads on the road tomorrow night and the Brazos Valley Bombers on the road Thursday night before returning home on Friday and Saturday to close out the first half.
