The Victoria Generals swept the weekly TCL Pitcher and Player of the Week honors for week three of the season.
General's shortstop Brendan McGaheran (Lehigh University) was named the TCL Co-Player of the Week going 8-for-16 on the week with 2 RBIs, 5 runs scored, and 2 walks whilte helping the Generals to a 3-3 week. McGaheran is currently thrid in the TCL in batting average at .386 and is tied for second in hits with 17 and in doubles with 5. Lee Orr of the East Texas Pump Jacks sharred the honor with McGaheran on the week.
General's relief picther Ryan Turner (McLennan Community College/Tarleton State University) was named the TCL Pitcher of the Week. In Turner's first week of action in the TCL, he struck out 9 batters in 4 innings of work while only giving up 1 hit over 2 relief appearances. Turner, who was recently selected in the 49th round of the 2010 MLB Draft, baffled hitters all week, holding them to a .077 batting average.

Brendan McGaheran, Victoria Generals
McGaheran started four games at shortstop for the Generals and hit .500 (8-for-16) during the week. He scored five runs and drove in two while doubling twice. Just as impressive, McGaheran didn’t strike out but drew three walks. His best performances were June 17 against East Texas, when he hit two singles in three at-bats and scored twice, and a 4-for-5 showing June 19 facing Brazos Valley.
Lee Orr, East Texas Pump Jacks
In his first week of play in the TCL, Orr went 7-for-17 (.412) but punctuated that with an .824 slugging percentage. Five of his seven hits on the week were for extra bases, with a home run and four double. Orr drove in five runs and scored six times while stealing two bases. He made his presence felt with two doubles and a single June 15th against Victoria, and the next night at Brazos Valley Orr crushed another double and his first home run of the season while walking twice.

While Turned pitched only four innings on the week, all in relief, he made those innings count. Turner dominated by striking out nine of the 13 batters he faced during the week, allowing just one hit on no runs. He K’d five of the six Brazos Valley Bombers hitters he faced on June 14, and four more Pump Jacks on June 17.
