The Victoria Generals beat the league-leading East Texas Pump Jacks tonight on the road by a final score of 7-4 to move into a tie at the top of the TCL standings with the Pump Jacks. The Generals received a solid outing from starting pitcher Sam Walker who left the game with the lead in the 4th inning, but did not pitch long enough to get credit for the win. Kolt Browder came on in relief for the Generals and gave up only one hit in 3.1 innings of work to earn the win. Closer Roman Madrid came on in the ninth to close the door. The Generals offense got on the board in the first inning with sacrifice flies from Conner Mach and Abel Baker. The Pump Jacks had two errors in the third inning before Mach drove home another run on a sacrifice fly to make the score 3-0. With two outs in the top of the fifth, Lawton Langford drew a walk for the Generals before Mach smashed a double to drive in his third run of the game. Mach finished 1-3 on the night with three RBIs. The Generals would add another run in the sixth and two more in the eighth to win by a final score of 7-4. The Generals and Pump Jacks sit atop the TCL standings with records of 6-4. The Generals will return home on Thursday night to take on the Pump Jacks again. It's Thursday Thursday at Riverside Stadium in Victoria, which means draft beer will be $1 all night long on the party deck. Game time is 7:05pm!
