July 26, 2023 – Texas State RF Xavier Perez blasted two home runs and an RBI double as the Victoria Generals shut out the Brazos Valley Bombers 7-0 at Riverside Stadium. On the mound, Victoria pitching held Brazos Valley to just three hits with 11 strikeouts. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Generals, who improved to 30-15.

Perez’s solo shot in the opening frame put Victoria on the board first as the Bombers’ bats were held in check. Perez doubled the lead with a solo homer to open the fourth inning before kicking off a five-run eighth inning with an RBI double. The Generals added three more runs on a trio of bases-loaded walks before Cerda was hit by a pitch with the bags juiced to plate the seventh run.
