June 13th, 2023- After coming off a win last night against the Acadiana Cane Cutters, the Generals looked to add another win to the books tonight as they traveled to Baton Rouge to take on the Rougarou for the seventh time in TCL play.
The Rougarou got on the board in the bottom of the second off a wild pitch which gave them an unearned run and the early lead. The Generals responded in the top of the third off a pair of triples from Dayton Tockey and Drake Kerr. A sacrifice fly from second baseman Easton Dowell brought in another run to give the Generals the lead. Christopher Munoz and RJ Patrick get a pair of singles giving the Generals a 3-1 lead.
After the Rougarou scored one in the top of the fourth, the Generals quickly responded again with a total of four hits and extended their lead off a three-run home run by Dowell. The Rougarou scored one in the bottom of the fourth off a Generals error making the score 6-3. Shortly after, the Rougarou got two hits and two runs to tighten the General's lead.
In the bottom of the sixth, the starting pitcher for the Generals, Jack Hagan, held the Rougarou after a stadium light delay and sitting for almost thirty minutes. He put the Rougarou down in order and finished the night pitching six frames, handing out nine strikeouts, and allowing seven hits.
A trio of Generals pitchers closed out the night only allowing one hit and no runs. The generals beat the Rougarou for the third time this year with a final score of 6-5.
