Generals get a much needed win to end their five game slide with a 5-4 victoria over the River Monsters in Seguin. Pitching dominated most of the game with both starters keeping it close. River Monsters strike first with a run in the first to take an early 1-0 lead after one inning. Generals battle bask in the top of the third as Brandon Galindo leads off with a double and would later score on a single from Becker plating Galindo to even the score at 1-1
Generals would get some traffic on the bases and would score Becker on an RBI Single from Adrian Minjares who would come in for an injured Chris Kean as the Generals would take a 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth. River Monsters would battle back with a three run bottom of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead over the Generals. Generals would get things going in the top of the sixth with an RBI single from Isaiah Walker and a double from Adam Becker as the Generals would tie the game up at 4-4.
Strong pitching from both sides would take the game to extras as the Geneals would push a run across to take a 5-4 lead as the River Monsters would come to the plate in the bottom of the inning. Generals would battle through the inning and would seal the 5-4 victory on strong pitching fom JJ Slack and Travis Phelps as the Generals would put an end to an early season slide. JJ Slack would pick up the win with a strong 9th inning and Travis Phelps would collect the save with a powerful tenth inning.
Generals hit Riverside Stadium tomorrow night with Thirsty Thursday at the Ballpark with half priced beer all game long on the Dornburg Party Deck. Get there early to grab your seat with gates opening at 6pm and first pitch set for 7:05!!
