January 28, 2020 – With the 2020 Texas Collegiate League season fast approaching, the Victoria Generals announce four returning players from previous seasons.   This week, the Generals announce the return of Caleb Maly, Kyle Boudreaux, Ty Abraham and A.J. Irvin.

 

Outfielder Caleb Maly, a red-shirt junior from Pearland, TX, will return to the Generals after an outstanding first half for the Generals. In 2019 at Wharton Junior College, Maly was an offensive leader appearing in 47 games, hit .393 with 57 hits, 32 runs scored, 18 RBI's, four stolen bases and an on-base percentage of .514 on the season. Last Summer for the Generals, Maly appeared in 10 games, hit .370 with 10 hits, 14 walks, 10 runs scored, nine stolen bases and an on-base percentage of .595 before leaving the team with an injury.  Maly has transferred to Texas Lutheran University where he will look to bolster their lineup in 2020.

 

Infielder Kyle Boudreaux, a sophomore from Sugar land, TX, will return to the Generals after spending last Summer with the Baton Rouge Rougarou. Boudreaux played in the second half of the 2018 Championship season appearing in 10 games for the Generals. In 2019 for Paris Junior College, Boudreaux appeared in 52 games,  hit .251 with 33 runs scored, 22 RBI's, 30 walks, 19 stolen bases and an on-base percentage of .361.  Last Summer for the Rougarou, Boudreaux appeared in the first half of the season and led the team in hitting before leaving with a leg injury.  

 

Right-handed pitcher Ty Abraham, a red-shirt freshman will return to the mound for the Generals. The Sugar land, TX native had an outstanding high school career at George Ranch High School, finishing up his senior season as a First Team All-District selection and ranked as the #22 prospect out of high school in Texas (Prep Baseball Report). Ty is the younger brother of former 2011 General Cody Abraham (Mississippi State University). Abraham transferred to Paris Junior College this past Fall after having a solid Summer for the Generals in 2019. Abraham appeared in 16 games for the Generals, throwing 26 innings, allowing five hits, while striking out 29 batters.

 

Right-handed pitcher AJ Irvin, a red-shirt sophomore from Blinn Junior College, will return for his 3rd season with the Generals. In two seasons with the Generals, Irvin has appeared in 22 games (20 innings), allowing 25 hits, nine walks, while striking out 22 batters and compiling a 3-2 record. 

 

The Victoria Generals will play 48 games with 24 of the games being played here in Victoria at Riverside Stadium. The Generals will begin the 2020 season on May 28th as they hit the road against the Texarkana Twins. The Generals home opener will be on Sunday, May 31st as the defending TCL Champion Brazos Valley Bombers come to town.
