Generals Struggle in Round Rock Series

Early Lead For Round Rock Hairy Men Seals Fate For Victoria Generals

 

The Victoria Generals watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-1 loss to Round Rock Hairy Men on Thursday.

 

The Round Rock Hairy Men scored on an error, a walk by Jared McKenzie, and a single by River Town in the second inning.

 

The Victoria Generals struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Round Rock Hairy Men, giving up 12 runs.

 

Round Rock Hairy Men fired up the offense in the second inning, when an error scored one run for Round Rock Hairy Men.

 

Trent Baker was credited with the victory for Round Rock Hairy Men. He surrendered no runs on two hits over four innings, striking out two and walking zero.Poulson, Smith and Hornfischer all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

 

Jack Payne took the loss for Generals. He surrendered eight runs on three hits over two innings.

Round Rock Hairy Men smacked two home runs on the day. Ryan Hernandez did damage once again against the Generals with his second long ball of the series and his fifth of the early season in the second inning.  Cole Turney had a solo shot in the eighth inning.

 

Steve Bonez led the Generals with two hits in four at bats. The Generals were active on the base path as two players stole at least two bases. Jose led the way with three steals. 

 

Round Rock Hairy Men totaled eight hits. Towns and Turney each managed multiple hits for Round Rock Hairy Men.

 

The Generals will be back at home this weekend when they take on the Tulsa Drillers. All games will be FREE ADMISSION. beginning with First Responders Night on Friday. Saturday Night will Strike Out Cancer Night presented by Compadres Design and Sunday will be Bark at the Park presented by Northside Ranch, Pet and Garden Center!
